BMW X2 Confirmed For 2017 Launch
BMW has a particular manner in which they name their cars. The German manufacturer does not give its cars names, they give it numbers. If you check their portfolio, you would notice quite a few numbers aren't present.
BMW has decided to add a new X2 to bridge the gap between their X1 and X3 model. Their top variant X-range is the X6 and will there be something bigger than it, time alone will tell us.
BMW haven't officially confirmed this news; however a reliable online forum and a BMW worker, have leaked that a X2 will be introduced in 2017.

BMW is expected to offer the X2 with its XDrive system of all-wheel drive. It will come in three as well as five doors option. This will be a great move as most of their X series are available only in the five doors option.

We expect when the X2 launches, it will most likely come to India as BMW is doing good and this could further cement their standing in the Indian market.
BMW currently sells the X1, X3 and X6 in India and the new X2 would fit in well into the segment and will provide more options to BMW customers.
They will have to wait as the X2 if it comes, will first be showcased in 2017 and later on launched.
