BMW India Upcoming Launches In 2014
The German auto manufacturer, BMW, has just launched the 2014 version of the X5 SUV in India, but there are still many more products to come this year. Philipp von Sahr, president of BMW India, has confirmed BMW will surprise this year.
BMW could follow the X5 launch with their M-series cars like the M3 as well as the M4. Also on the cards is the German's plug-in hybrid vehicle the i8, which was showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo held in New Delhi.

BMW is the owner of MINI India and could get the current generation Mini to the sub-continent before the end of 2014. BMW has suddenly began offering several products in India, as they believe there is serious potential here.
The new MINI to launch in India in 2014 will sport a 2.0-litre, petrol-powered, four-cylinder engine. It will also offer a 1.5-litre, three-cylinder diesel as well as a petrol engine.

BMW had showcased their plug-in hybrid the i8 in India recently with their brand ambassador for India, Sachin Tendulkar. The i8 will sport a 1.5-litre, petrol powered, three-cylinder, twin-turbocharged mill. It will produce 231 horsepower and 320 Nm of peak torque.
The i8 will also come with an electric motor, which adds another 131 horsepower along with 250 Nm of peak torque. Both the petrol as well as the electric motor will power the i8 hybrid sportscar. It can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds and is capable of achieving top speeds of 250 km/h.

The M-series by BMW is a direct answer to Mercedes and their AMG vehicles in India. The M3 will sport a 3.0-litre, in-line six M twin-turbo engine, which will be capable of producing 425 horsepower and 550 Nm of peak torque. The engine will be mated to a 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
The German manufacturer will provide the M3 with extensive carbon fibre. This will enable the M-series to shed a lot of weight and improve the dynamics of the vehicle. BMW will bring its M3 to India as a CBU(Completely Built Unit).
