BMW 7-Series ActiveHybrid Coming To India In July
BMW India recently launched its 2014 X5 in India now according to the German manufacturers plan to launch nine models in India for 2014. They will be now launching in July its 7-Series ActiveHybrid vehicle. This will be the German manufacturers first hybrid vehicle in the Indian subcontinent.
The 7-Series ActiveHybrid will look similar to the 7-Series sedan that is currently sold in India. The ActiveHybrid will sport an electric motor which, improves fuel efficiency and lowers CO2 in the exhaust. The car is believed won't sell high numbers however, it will increase hybrid engine awareness among BMW buyers.

Powering the 7-Series ActiveHybrid is a 3.0-litre petrol, six-cylinder engine. The engine will sport BMW TwinPower Turbo and will produce 450 Nm of peak torque along with 320 horsepower. It will be combined with an electric motor giving it the hybrid status.
The electric motor will add an additional 55 horsepower and 210 Nm of peak torque. The sedan will be rear wheel powered and will sport an 8-speed automatic transmission. The top speed of the 7-Series ActiveHybrid is electronically restricted to 250 km/h and can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in a swift 5.7 seconds.

The German manufacturer has an interesting line-up of products to launch in the coming months. The X3 SUV will get a facelift while, M3 sports sedan and M4 coupe will be launched in India. The German automobile giant will also get to India the 2015 range of MINI.

The 7-Series ActiveHybrid by BMW will be brought to India as a Completely Built Unit(CBU). It is expected to cost roughly INR 1, 75,00,000 its goal is to create awareness among buyers prior to the launch of the i8 hybrid sports car in India by the end of 2014.
