Bentley Teases Its Upcoming SUV In New Video

English manufacturers of exquisite automobiles Bentley have been popularly known for their cars. They will soon be entering into the SUV segment for the very first time in 2016. The manufacturer has provided a sneak into their future offering in a video.

Bentley are known for their Continental GT, Continental Flying Spur and its Mulsanne. The company was founded back in 18th January, 1919 by H.M. Bentley and W.O. Bentley. Their headquarters are in Crewe, England, United Kingdom. They are currently owned by Volkswagen AG from 1998 onwards.

Bentley Motors is working on their new SUV platform, they have invested over 800 million Pounds. This includes new facilities and models for the coming three years. The English manufacturer believes they will sell 3000 of their SUVs every year.

Dr Wolfgang Schreiber, Chairman and Chief Executive at Bentley Motors, expressed, "It will create a completely new segment in the SUV market." The SUV will be luxurious and powerful like no other vehicle. Owners of their vehicles will not miss out on quality and craftsmanship that is synonymous with Bentley.

The manufacturer has not confirmed powertrains for their SUV, however, it is sure to get a plug-in hybrid option. We believe Bentley will provide a V8 twin turbo, 4.0-litre engine. It is the same engine that is used in their Flying Spur and Continental models.

A much more powerful option will also be offered, in the form of a W12 twin turbo 6.0-litre mill, which will be capable of generating 600 horsepower. It will be capable of achieving top speed figures in the range of 300 km/h.

Bentley's SUV will be on offer from 2016 and should have a price tag of INR 1,30,00,000 for its most basic model. We are not sure if this model will be offered in India or not. The name and several other details will be revealed closer to its launch.
