Audi, the country's largest luxury car manufacturer, has decided to launch the RS 7 in India following the launch of several AMG models by rival Mercedes-Benz India. Here, Audi RS 7 will compete against models such as the Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG and BMW M5.

Powered by a 4.0 liter TFSI Twin Turbo V8 engine, the Audi RS 7 gets 560 PS power at 6700 rpm and 700 Nm of torque from 1750 rpm making it one of the most powerful offering by the German automaker with four rings in India. The sports sedan has an electronically restricted top speed of 250 km/h, which can be increased to 305 km/h in markets outside India. Audi RS 7 can accelerate from a standstill to a 100 km/h in a claimed 3.9 seconds.
As with other Audis, the RS 7 comes with the automaker's Quattro all-wheel drive system. The 8 speed automatic transmission favours the rear wheels, with a 60:40 power distribution ratio between the rear and front wheels.

Audi RS 7 also comes with Cylinder On demand (COD) system which shuts off four of the eight cylinders when load on the engine is less. This enables the car to deliver a fuel economy of 10 km/l as per the European driving cycle.
Expect Audi RS 7 sports sedan to be priced at around INR 1.5 crores.
