2014 Toyota Corolla To Launch In India This Month
Toyota had showcased their 11th-gen Corolla at the 2014 Auto Expo. The premium saloon is slated to launch in India in the next few days. Toyota has high hopes from the Corolla in the Indian market.
The Japanese manufacturer has confirmed that the 2014 Toyota Corolla will be available both in petrol as well as in a diesel engine option. Among them will be five variant options with the petrol engine, while the diesel engine will have a choice of four trims. They will also offer an automatic option in the petrol variant.
The 2014 Toyota Corolla will feature safety equipment such as ABS, EBD and dual airbags for the front passengers. The premium luxury saloon will also sport features like auto wipers, keyless entry, foglamps, LED headlamps along with engine start/stop button.
The 2014 Corolla will have a large 7-inch TFT display which, will also have a reverse parking camera. Toyota will wrap interiors in leather, while cruise control and navigation will be offered only in the automatic option.
Toyota will be launching the new Corolla with the same engine that powered the earlier generation saloons. It will sport the same 1.8-litre petrol Dual VVT-I engine and will produce 140 PS along with 173 Nm of peak torque. The engine will be mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox or their CVT offering.
A 1.4-litre diesel engine will power the 2014 Corolla saloon which will be mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. It will churn out 205 Nm of torque along with 88.4 PS.
The prices of the 2014 Corolla has not been revealed and we presume the premium saloon will surely be more expensive than the current generation on offer.
