2014 Mahindra Scorpio Launched In Bangalore: Price, specs and details

The 2014 Mahindra Scorpio was launched today. The SUV, in its new avatar, sees a lot of changes, both to the exterior as well as the interior, and features an all-new platform as well.

The 2014 Mahindra Scorpio is priced between INR 8.31 lakh (bottom-end S2 variant) and INR 13.05 lakh (top-end S10 4WD variant).

The new-generation Scorpio has two engine options: the first being the 2.2-litre mHawk engine that produces 120 PS of power and 280 Nm of torque, and the second being the 2.5-litre m2DICR that produces 75 PS and 200 Nm of torque.

The all-new exteriors feature dual projector headlamps, LED daytime running lights, LED tail lamps and new 17-inch wheels.

Inside, the new Scorpio gets a 6" touch screen infotainment system with GPS navigation, Bluetooth, CD/DVD/USB/Aux and climate control. The SUV also features new blue-grey interiors, a new steering wheel, chrome accented AC vents and a new centre console.

Other features include micro-hybrid technology, smart sensors for the wipers and headlights for rain and light, tyre pressure monitoring system, reverse assist and a voice assist system. Some comfort and convenience highlights are height adjustability for the driver's seat, hydraulic assist for the bonnet, and rear AC vents.

With regards to safety, the new-gen Scorpio gets dual front airbags, ABS, crumple zones, engine immobilizer, panic braking indication where the hazard lights come on in case of emergency braking, and a speed alert warning at 140 km/h.
