Volvo V40 Cross Country June 14 Launch Confirmed
The Swedish automaker will not be far behind Mercedes as it launches the A-Class this week, followed by new B-Class variants next month. It is now confirmed Volvo V40 Cross Country crossover will be launched here on June 14. Volvo V40 Cross Country is a more rugged version of the regular V40, with decent off road capabilities. But we'll have to wait and see if the all wheel drive variant will be launched here.
India will get two engine options, the T4 1.6 liter GTDi petrol engine rated at 180 BHP and 270 Nm of peak torque and the D3 2.0 liter diesel engine rated at 150 HP and 350 Nm of torque. Gearbox options will be a 6 speed powershift automatic or a manual. Start/Stop functionality will be standard on both variants.
India buyers will get to experience Volvo's renowned safety features first hand with the V40 Cross Country. The V40 Cross Country will come with Volvo's City Safety auto braking tech and the world first pedestrian airbag feature. The V40 Cross Country will also be the only car in its segment to come with Pedestrian Detection technology.
Expect Volvo V40 Cross Country to be priced around INR 25 lakhs, which will put it in the same range as the BMW X1, Audi Q3 and Mercedes hatchbacks.
