Volkswagen Vento Automatic Discontinued; Replaced By Vento TSI
Volkswagen has stopped production of Vento petrol automatic for the Indian market. This logical step was taken by the German automaker in the light of the recentlylaunched Vento TSI, which makes the prior former irrelevant.
VW Vento automatic was powered by a 1.6 liter petrol engine mated to a 6 speed automatic transmission. The new vento TSI on the other hand is powered by a smaller 1.2 liter petrol mated to a 7 speed DSG transmission.
Despite the smaller engine and an automatic transmission the Vento TSI delivers 105 PS, the amount of power generated by the 1.6 liter engine. This is owing to presence of a turbocharger. The addition of direct fuel injection and ensures Vento TSI is more efficient than the Vento automatic.
These reason combined with the fact that the Vento automatic was never in any real demand only made its discontinuation inevitable.
