Volkswagen Price Hike Announced For Next Year
The German automaker Volkswagen is the latest in the line of companies to announces increase prices of their vehicles in India. The manufacturer has announced that it will raise the prices of its products by up to 2.5 percent. The new prices will start reflecting from January 2014.

Like the other manufacturers, Volkswagen is feeling the pinch due to ever increasing production cost, resulting from increased cost of raw materials. The small increase in price, Volkswagen says, is necessary to maintain its quality standards.

"We have been faced with constant rise in input cost over the past several months and have tried our best to absorb it. However, in order to maintain our quality standards that our customer expects from us, we have had to increase the price by a small percentage," said Arvind Saxena, managing director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars.
The other manufacturers which have announced price hike include in the past couple of weeks include, Audi, BMW, Honda, Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz, Maruti, Mahindra, Nissan, Renault & Tata Motors.
