Tesla Entry Level Electric Car Confirmed By CEO

What Tesla needs is an electric car that the masses can afford, something like the Nissan Leaf electric hatchback. This matter has certainly crossed the minds of Tesla's management and hence such a car will be made by the company soon. This was confirmed by Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who confirmed the same in an interview with Bloomberg.
Musk said an affordable electric car will be launched by the year 2014 and it will be better than Nissan Leaf, while still matching it in terms of pricing. Musk stated, "With the Model S, you have a compelling car that's too expensive for most people. And you have the Leaf, which is cheap, but it's not great. What the world really needs is a great, affordable electric car. I'm not going to let anything go, no matter what people offer, until I complete that mission."
From what we have come to expect from Tesla in terms of user services and the Model S itself expectations will be high. Musk did not divulge into any further details. So, for now we'll wait and see what Nissan has to say about that statement made by him.
