Tata Nano Power Steering Variant Rumored For January Launch
Tata Motors, which is on an image makeover drive for its Nano city car, will reportedly introduce power steering to the small car. The Nano has never featured power steering, which in part has adversely affected its sales. Without power steering maneuvering the car in tight situations, in city traffic becomes difficult.

According to an AutoCar report, Tata Nano with power steering will be launched as early as January 15, 2014 and this specific model will be called Nano Twist.

Tata Nano twist will reportedly cost about Rs 15,000 more than the current top of line Nano LX trim. The report further claims that the power steering in Nano Twist has been developed by German automotive parts manufacturer, ZF Friedrichshafen. However, it's not known if the power steering is going to be electronic or hydraulic.

Tata Nano, currently sold in three variants, is powered by a 624cc petrol engine that delivers 37.4 HP and comes with a four speed manual transmission. earlier this year, Tata Motors introduced the Nano eMax, the CNG variant. The automaker is also rumored to launch the first diesel engined Nano later in 2014.
