Tata Tries To Push Nano Sales With Exchange Offer
It is common knowledge now that several thousand Nano units are sitting idle in the factory premises. To reduce the stockpile Tata is now offering to buy your old two wheelers or four wheeler in exchange for a cash discount on a new Nano.
On exchanging any two wheeler Tata will offer a discount of Rs 15,000 on a new Nano, while exchanging a four wheeler will get you a discount of Rs 40,000. The latter is subjected to conditions.
In fact, Tata has offered exchange offers for the Nano in the past, but never with too much success. The latest offer is unlikely to revive the fortune of failing model. What can is a new model, priced higher and with better features, build quality and most of all, a diesel engine.
A facelifted diesel engined Tata Nano, which has been spotted a few times this year, is expected to be revealed before the end of the year. The engine is rumored to be a turbocharged 800cc DICOR unit, rated at 41 HP.
