Tata Motors’ Parking Area Reserved For Tata Cars

Parking areas in Tata Motors' premises are henceforth open only to its own branded vehicles. Those driving to work in cars of different make will now either have to find an alternate parking area or switch to a Tata vehicle.
""To promote brand image and demonstrate pride of being part of Tata Motors, the management has encouraged all the employees to own a Tata Vehicle. As our commitment to further this cause, as a first step, we shall only Tata Vehicles to enter the premises. All the non-Tata Vehicles will have to be parked outside the (commercial vehicle business unit) CVBU gate in a parking lot,"" ET quotes a Tata Motors Pune plant circular signed by person in charge of the plant.
It turns out this is a common practice. Hyundai, for example, has always mandated its employees to use its own vehicles. Other companies that have similar rules in place include Honda Two Wheelers and Bajaj Auto. At the same time, some companies like Ford India and Honda four wheelers division have no restrictions in place. Maruti Suzuki is another Indian automaker which is not bothered by what cars its own employees drive to work in.
But this does not necessarily mean companies force their employees into buying their vehicles. In fact, in almost every automobile manufacturing company employees are encouraged into buying their products with attractive financial offers and irresistible discounts up to 30 percent in some cases.
