Suzuki Swift Sales Cross 3 Million Mark

The Suzuki Swift's latest achievement is that it's sales have crossed the coveted 3 million unit mark. Suzuki Motor Corporation has announced that cumulative worldwide sales of the Swift is now over 3 million units since its launch in 2004.
Suzuki is now selling the Swift in 120 countries. The latest to join the list is Thailand where Suzuki is also building the compact hatchback. The Swift has impressed the demanding European drivers too. Its compact size and impressive handling has resulted in the Swift being described as the affordable Mini.
India has been one of the major buyers of the Swift. Out of the 3 million sales, 45% has been achieved in India. Japan has contributed to 13% of the Swift's sales while Europe has a bigger chunk at 23%.
The Swift is priced between INR 4.5 lakhs and INR 6.7 lakhs in India. Maruti Suzuki India is selling an average 17,000 Swifts per month in the past three months. The Swift's sales in India got a boost in 2011 when Maruti Suzuki launched the refreshed version. With demand for diesel cars shooting up. The Swift Diesel is also India's highest selling diesel car.
