Ssangyong Korando C, the compact premium SUV, introduced in South Korea in 2011, has received its first facelift. The new Korando C, dubbed an Urban Leisure Vehicle (ULV), is an SUV which has been designed mainly for use in urban areas.
Ssangyong refers to the Kurando's design concept as Robust Aesthetics from Dynamic Motion and now falls into the unified family design that is also exhibited by the Korando Sports and Korando Turismo SUVs. The Korando C has been testing in India several times and the possibility of it arriving in here is very much a possibility. Here is what you need to know about the facelift.

Exterior
As with most facelifts the major exterior changes have come at the front fascia, where the front grille and airdam designs have been altered. The fog lamp housing also receives a slight tweak. The grille is body coloured and there is also a bit of chrome strip lining the top.

Projector headlights, with a black bezel and LED position lights are the new highlights. At the rear you get C-Shaped guide lights as part of the stop light cluster and ‘Korando C' lettering embossing. The last exterior change are the new 18 inch alloy wheels.

Interior
Apart from the use of improved materials on the dashboard, a new instrument panel and forced ventilation with two-level fan, the new Korando C comes packed with premium electronic amenities such as Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), 7-inch touch screen infotainment system, with 3D maps, Harman/Kardon sound system and Smart key system. Features depend on variants of course.

Lastly, Ssangyong says the powertrain has been designed to improve economy by 8.4 percent in ‘Eco' drive, so that it now delivers 12.8 kmpl in 2WD config. With the use of the manual transmission this figure increases to 17.2 kmpl. The new Korando C is also a more stable and refined, with lower noise and vibration levels, as well as being more rigid.
