Aston Martin DBC Concept Should Be The Way To Go For The Brand
Aston Martin has had a similar looking product line for far too long. All its vehicles use the same platform, are front engined GT cars and even feature nearly identical body lines. The front engine placement is understandable since all its models are mainly GT cars and the similar looking design could perhaps be blamed on the common aging platform.
But remember that in the not too distant future Aston Martin is set to partner with Daimler owned AMG, the performance division of Mercedes-Benz. Perhaps this will provide the British brand an opportunity to break away from its current habits and bring out something entirely different from what it has been offering for years. And if their designers are not clear about which direction to look towards they could take a proverbial page out of Samir Sadikhov's design book.

Sadikhov is an Azerbaijani based designer who has come up a mesmerising Aston Martin concept design, DBC. One look at his design and you want to keep looking for more. The DBC concept is Sadikhov's idea of a mid-engined Aston Martin that does not look like anything the brand has ever built before, but still maintains classic Aston Martin design philosophy. Look no further than his side-by-side rendering of the DBC with a DBR1, for example.

While we must admit the DBC Concept does look ever so slightly similar to the Jaguar C-X75, we still hope someone from Aston comes across this design. If ever Aston Martin does develop a mid-engined DBC Concept like supercar, with a hybrid engine for added measure, we wouldn't want to be McLaren or Ferrari.

Sadikhov is a well known industrial and product designer who came second in the Ferrari World Design Contest in 2011 for his Xerzri Concept. You can check out the remaining DBC Concept renderings and his other works in his website.
