Rolls Royce Wraith Launched In India
The Wraith is the newest member from the Rolls Royce royalty to be launched in India. The Wraith, the sporties of the lot, is still a heavy beast. But a massive turbo charged engine and stiff suspension give it an impressive performance for a car that tips the scale at 2360 kg.
The engine is a 6.6 liter twin turbocharged V12 petrol engine which generates 624 HP and 800 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to an 8 speed ZF automatic transmission, which drives the rear wheels.
The ‘air suspensions' on the Wraith lets you experience what Rolls Royce describes as 'magic carpet ride'. But suspension setting can be changed to make them stiffer which will make the car stable at high speeds, especially while cornering.
A key technologically advanced feature is the Satellite Aided Transmission. The system works through GPS mapping and by assessing driving style. Then, based on the type of road that lies ahead and how you drive, the proper gear is automatically selected.
Another feature that has to be mentioned is the roof, which is lined with 1,340 tiny lamps hand-woven into the fabric. These lamps, when turned on, give the feeling of a star lit night.
Rolls Royce Wraith is priced at INR 4.4 crores (ex-showroom, Delhi).
