Renault Visually Stunning Twin'Z Concept
French carmaker Renault has revealed the Twin'Z design concept, which it says, has been developed taking inspiration from the world of nature and furniture design! The design is the result of British designer Ross Lovegrove's work. Lovegrove is a noted designer whose works are based on designs inspired by nature. The final result is a product which "combines an unprecedented play on light and organic forms to make Twin'Z an endearing, almost living object," in Renault's own words.
Since Renault felt the design of the Twin'Z has more similarities with furniture design it chose to reveal it at the Salone Internazionale del Mobile di Milano, an annual furniture design exhibition held in Italy. The designer has put a lot of emphasis on color of lighting and how the light is projected. LED lighting is used to highlight the body lines and add flavour. An example of the nature inspired design style of Lovegrove are the wheels that look like the roots of a tree. The interior is even more intresting. The front passenger sits on a carbon fiber single piece seat cushioned with woven fabric. On the rear the seats are an extension of the body shell. Also seen inside is a tablet and a smartphone, which we presume provides all the necessary information to the driver. The vast gallery showcasing the Renault Twin'Z Concept provides a better explanation of itself than words. Enjoy!
