Renault Scala CVT Launched At INR 8.99 Lakhs

Renault India has launched the Scala CVT in India. The automatic Renault Scala has been named as the X-Tronic and will be available in two variants.

The entry level Scala CVT is the RxL which is priced at INR 8.99 lakhs and the top end RxZ is available with a price tag of INR 9.89 lakhs.

Renault India has gambled with the price of the Scala CVT. While the manual RxL variant is priced at INR 7.9 lakhs, the top end RxZ is priced at INR 9.6 lakhs. It appears that Renault India is hoping to sell more numbers of the top end RxZ version of the Scala CVT as it is more expensive than the manual version by just Rs.29,000. The price difference between the manual and CVT variants of the RxL is INR 1.09 lakhs.

The Renault Scala X-Tronic's price might appear to be higher. But the price would not matter to some one who likes the Scala as well as wishes to have a relaxed drive while moving through city traffic.

The Renault Scala X-Tronic will deliver a mileage of 17.97kmpl. This mileage is slightly higher than what can be achieved in the manual versions. Renault India has in fact claimed that the Scala CVT is the most fuel efficient car in its segment.

The Renault Scala CVT will be competing against the likes of Honda City auto, Hyundai Verna auto and the Maruti Suzuki SX4 auto.
