Renault To Launch Scala Automatic Soon

The Renault Scala automatic will be available in petrol only. Renault will be fitting the CVT gearbox in to the RXL and RXZ petrol variants. No details about the Scala AT's price are available as of now.
The Scla is powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine cap[able of generating a peak power of 100bhp and 134Nm of torque. The engine coupled with the CVT gearbox is said to deliver a mileage of 17.97kmpl as per ARAI guidelines.
Speaking about the Scala AT, Renault India MD Marc Nassif said: " With more and more cars on the road as well as frequent stop-and-go traffic, India has been seeing an increase in demand for automatic sedans in recent years. However, despite the growing interest for these cars, petrol automatic vehicles are still limited to a 6 per cent share in the premium sedan segment because they have a low fuel efficiency and higher cost of ownership. The Scala X-tronic CVT aims to bridge this gap by high fuel efficiency, reliability and performance."
With the official confirmation about the launch of the Scala AT coming in, there is little doubt about the Nissan Sunny getting an automatic variant too. The Scala is just a re-badged version of the Sunny which was launched in late 2011 in India. Nissan has so far not made any official statement about the Sunny AT.
