Polaris To Manufacture Military ATVs For German Army
Polaris Industries, the manufacturers of off road vehicles and ATVs in particular, has announced that it has received a contract from the German Army to build military ATVs. The company will build specially modified and highly rugged MV850 ATVs.
Polaris already has military contracts in other countries, including the United States and also India. Polaris also donated 5 of its rugged and versatile ATVs to the Uttarakhand government for rescue operations during the floods.

The German Army will be supplied with the highly modified MV850 ultra-light tactical and versatile ATVs.

The highly-mobile MV850 platform was first built for the U.S army. They perform the function of transporting troops and gear through difficult terrain.

The MV850 can haul 272 kg weight on its metal rack system. It comes with a 4.5 liter fuel tank, blackout lightning with IR light capability and an optional litter mount.

Rich Haddad, general manager of Polaris Defense said: "It is our goal to match the warfighter's mission requirements with our best value product."

"Defense forces around the world are seeking Polaris Defense Military vehicles to take advantage of our ability to make modifications to our commercial off-the-shelf technology (COTS), insert customer requirements and quickly deliver an end product that meets their needs," he added.
