At the recently held Emergency Medical Services (EMS) event at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi, Polaris displayed what is perhaps the first all-terrain ambulance in India.
The Polaris off-road ambulance displayed at EMS was a modified Ranger 6x6 800. The modifications were done by Bafna Healthcare Pvt. Limited. The Ranger 6x6 800 provides an excellent base for a compact, yet powerful and versatile emergency vehicle that can traverse through difficult terrain and aid in supplying medical help and assistance.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Pankaj Dubey, MD, Polaris India said, "Polaris off-road ambulances are apt for supplying medical supervision in rural India and calamity stuck regions, as they are capable of clearing highways/roads, or handling fire in narrow streets. The event is an opportunity for us to showcase the range of Polaris ATVs & ORVs unmatched versatility and stability in demanding conditions. Polaris vehicles are designed with inherent off-road capabilities and are tested under extreme conditions."

Polaris Ranger 6x6 800 is a 6 wheel ATV, with a 1 ton towing capacity and 566.99 kg carrying capacity in its rear dump. The ATV has a 760cc engine producing 40 HP of power. The driver can reign in the added capability of its 4x4WD or 6x6WD with just the press of a switch.
