2013 PGO Cevennes Speedster Launched In Europe
Here is a car that you will either love straightaway or call downright ugly. It depends on your love for a retroesque design, which this PGO Automobiles built 2013 Cévennes Speedster has in plenty.
PGO has used a small 1.6 liter direct injection four cylinder turbocharged diesel, sourced from BMW. The mid mounted engine delivers a good 181 HP and a peak torque of 177 ft-lb of torque. The engine is mated to a six speed manual transmission, delivering power to the rear wheels. The power delivered is good to take this 1000 kg roadster to a stop speed of 225 km/h.
For a roadster, which will mostly be seen cruising along the French countryside, the 2013 Cévennes seems like a pretty decent machine. Especially since anyone buying this car would primarily do so for its looks.
Considering that this car comes from a company that started out making kit cars, it is certainly an achievement to be proud of. A final note regarding the design. If you find a few similarities with Porsche its because PGO Automobiles was into making Porsche 356 kit cars. The influences are evident when you look at the headlights and slight curve of the fenders. Enjoy the gallery.
