Nissan Launches Special Edition Sunny

The Special Edition Sunny will be available with new features such as 2-din touch screen multimedia system, rear parking camera with sensors, rear spoiler and chrome finish on the branding on the trunk.
Nissan India has not fiddled with the Sunny's technical specifications. The Nissan Sunny is powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine which delivers a peak power of 100PS at 6000rpm and the max torque figure of 134NM is hit at 4000rpm. The Nissan Sunny's diesel variant is powered by a 1.5-litre K9K engine that is capable of generating 86Ps at 3750rpm and the peak torque is 200Nm at 200rpm. Both the Sunny variants are currently available only with manual transmissions.
The special edition Nissan Sunny will soon be followed by the automatic variants. Nissan's French partner Renault has already launched the Scala (Sunny clone) automatic variant named as the X-tronic. The same CVT gearbox is expected to be introduced in the Sunny.
Renault has launched the automatic version of the Scala only in the petrol variants. It is yet unclear if Nissan India will follow it and also launch the Sunny Automatic in just the petrol variants.
Nissan India has announced a marginal price hike of three cars it builds in India - Micra, Sunny and Evalia.
