Price Hike
In other Nissan news, the automaker, in India, raised prices of its vehicles starting from October 2013. Nissan vehicles now cost 1.4 percent to 2.9 percent more depending on the models. Nissan's product lineup consists of Sunny, Micra, Micra Active. The company is also scheduled to launch the new Terrano compact SUV this month.
The reasons given for the price hike are higher production cost and low rupee value. Mr. Nitish Tipnis, Director - Sales & Marketing, Hover Automotive India (Nissan's National Sales Company in India) said, "The prices are revised to minimize the impact of rupee depreciation and offset rising input costs and raw materials costs due to inflation. The price increase is marginal and we are confident that our valued customers will appreciate our efforts to offer them globally renowned products at affordable prices."
