Nissan IDx Concept Steals Tokyo Motor Show

Tokyo Motor Show witnessed the first glimpses of the Nissan IDx NISMO and IDx FREEFLOW concept cars. The IDx NISMO looks like it has just popped out of a racing game and into reality.

On the other hand, the IDx FREEFLOW has a much more relaxed, simple and clean design. Both concepts attracted many onlookers to the stands; however these are just beginnings with the IDx possibilities.

The company joined forces with digital powerhouse AKQA, to create a virtual dimension for viewers to create their own interpretation and changes. This ground-breaking Virtual Reality technology was powered by Oculus.

Nissan shared and co-created, hundreds of concept car images through social media. Among the popular cars at Tokyo Motor Show was an extreme interpretation of the IDx NISMO, while a coupe concept of the IDx FREEFLOW came a close second.

Every user was given only a chassis of the IDx concept car to help them in moulding their virtual representation of the car. Along with it the viewer had immersive 3D worlds, in each a choice was to be made to move ahead.

From a driver's viewpoint, every choice was made to increase individual needs and desires. The IDx served as a canvas for most, as to what would be desired by individuals. Option varied from petrol machines to electric cars, laid back cruisers to pure performance cars.

The Japanese giant, wants to use ground breaking technology innovatively, to delight existing customers and attract new clientele.The external design, quality and feel of materials, is what drives Nissan.

Nissan wants to excite its customers with innovations. The commitment is seen through it's organization, innovative product design and it's investment in electric vehicles technology. Thus, it is no surprise that Nissan has adopted this ground breaking technology to showcase their future cars at the Tokyo Motor Show.
