Nissan Evalia Facelift Coming In Time For Diwali
Nissan Evalia, an MPV which is quite popular in European countries and elsewhere, was introduced in India with lots of hope. Unfortunately though, the Japanese automaker did not take into account the automotive taste of the general Indian. The Evalia, with its rather boxy design, is seen more as a passenger vehicle rather than as a family MPV. The result is the Evalia hardly leaves showrooms.
While Toyota Innova sales numbers are around 5,670 units per month, Nissan sells a mere 177 Evalias. The company clearly knows what is hampering the vehicle's growth and is ready to take remedial steps. AutocarIndia has learnt that a slightly redesigned Evalia, with a premium interior, will be launched during the festival of lights.
Following are some the reported changes that will appear in future Evalia models

External changes will be minor, but no specifics are know yet

One of the major complain with the Evalia in India has been the absence of power windows in the middle and rear. Butterfly style windows are looked at as archaic. These will be replaced by slider windows.

The middle row seats will change from bench units to Captain style seats, at least in higher trims. This will hopefully give the vehicle a premium feel which customers prefer.

Overall, the interior in the facelift Evalia will make use of premium upholstery, better quality plastic and seats will be made more comfortable with higher quality cushioning and fabrics.

Nissan could ask for a slight premium for the spruced up Evalia. But if customer like what they see a slight price hike would be insignificant.
