2013 Range Rover Sport Launched; Price In India Starts At Rs 1.09 Cror

The new Range Rover Sport is 62mm longer, 55mm wider than the outgoing model. The ground clearance has also increased to 278mm. This can be further increased to 51mm with the use of Land Rover Terrain Response 2 system's off-road setting.

Lastly, the new model has a wheelbase that is 178mm longer than the older one, but measure 149mm shorter in height.

For the first time, Range Rover Sport features a 5+2 seating configuration, with the third row consisting of electrically foldable seats suitable for children.

For India, two engines are on offer - a 3.0 liter V6 diesel and a 5.0 liter supercharged V8 petrol. Both engines are mated to an eight speed automatic transmission and come equipped with start/stop function.

The V6 diesel is rated at 292 HP and 600 Nm torque. The engine outputs 199g/km of CO2 and delivers a combined fuel economy of 13.33 km/l.

The supercharged V8 petrol generates 510 HP and 625 Nm of torque. The engine outputs 298g/km of CO2 and delivers a combined fuel economy of 7.81 km/l.

In terms of performance, the diesel engine can reach 100km/h from a standstill in 7.2 seconds reach a top speed of 222km/h. For the petrol engine it is 5.3 seconds and 250 km/h.

2013 Range Rover Sport is available in the following trim levels in India - S, SE, HSE and Autobiography. The V6 diesel and supercharged V8 petrol are priced at INR 1.09 crore and INR 1.65 crore respectively (Ex-showroom, Mumbai).
