Minerva JM Brabazon Hybrid Supercar Is Official
Minerva, the name of the Roman goddesses of Wisdom, is also associated with a car maker. Not heard of it? That's probably because the company has been defunct for most part of the last century. Now, after several decades, Minerva Automobiles is back and how. It has announced a plug-in hybrid supercar, which it claims will do more than 400 km/h.
The upcoming product from Minerva is not the most beautiful car you would come across, but it is still an interestingly designed vehicle, which looks similar to McLaren P1 from some angles. Beside the strange design, the car also has a weird name, which sounds like the name of a mathematics professor from the 1980s - J.M Brabazon. It actually is the name of a person, just that it belonged to a famous British pilot and racing driver and not a professor. Moving on, here is what little we know of Minerva J.M Brabazon supercar.

Minerva Automobiles was founded by a certain Sylvain De Jong in 1897, but he was not an automobile engineer nor a racing driver. Instead, he was an accomplished journalist by profession.

He did have some experience with motorcycles though and in the late 19th and early 20th century Minerva Automobiles built several vehicles, all of which had names such as Type E, Type F, Type G, Type H, Type L.....

However, by 1956 the company had to shut shop and was not heard of until now.

There first automobile in decades, the Minerva J.M Brabazon project has the support of several clever minds from the automotive and aeronautical world.

Besides the impressive top speed of 400+ kmpl that Minerva claims, the company also says the Brabazon will have a power to weight ratio of 1:1. That's no minor claim to make. So, we'll be eager to see it in action.

The petrol engine will be a V12, but nothing beyond that is known yet.

The car will also have different driving modes - Economy, Normal, Sport, Race and Safe Mode.

There is no information regarding when an actual car will be revealed, even a concept model. Perhaps the Frankfurt will be the right place to expect it to make its first appearance. We'll be waiting eagerly.
