Mercedes Benz SLS AMG Final Edition To Say Good Bye At LA Auto Show?
If you haven't yet heard, Mercedes Benz has decided to phase out its flagship sports car/grand tourer model, the SLS AMG. That's right, the SLS AMG will soon be no more, after only about 4 years after its introduction (launched in 2010). That's a rather short life cycle for a powerful and well received sports car.
Mercedes has already unofficially announced a successor to the SLS AMG and is reportedly readying one last special edition model before bidding adieu. Information about the Final Edition - that's exactly what it will be called - and the purported successor have trickled down in the internet ahead of their launches.

The successor to the SLS AMG has been revealed as the SLC AMG through images of a test mule released by Mercedes.

The SLC AMG will be both smaller and less expensive than its predecessor.

While a launch date has not been confirmed, it will most definitely be in 2015.

As you seen in these images, the SLC AMG retains some characteristic lines from the SLS AMG such as the long nose and boot lid shape, including the tail light cluster. However, we won't be seeing the trademark gullwing doors anymore.

The SLC AMG will be launched to take on the next gen Porsche 911 Turbo and possibly the Jaguar F-Type Coupe.

Now coming to the SLS AMG Final Edition, which will be revealed at the Los Angeles Auto Show.

The SLS AMG Final Edition will reportedly feature a revised design both at the front and the rear, along with an upgraded interior.

The Final Edition will be produced in limited numbers with sales starting in early 2014 and ending by the mid-2014.

Mercedes will make the Final Edition available for the Coupe, Roadster, GT and Black Series versions.

Mechanically, the SLS AMG Final Edition will remain unchanged, delivering 563 HP, 583 HP and 622 HP respectively from standard, GT and Black Series models.
