Boris Becker Unveils Mercedes GL-Class In B'lore
The all new Mercedes Benz GL-Class was launched in Bangalore today. The new luxury SUV is available for a starting price of INR 78.88 lakhs. The GL-Class was unveiled by Boris Becker and Eberhard Kern, Managing Director & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India. The GL-Class launch event coincided with the inauguration of Sundaram Motors, Karnataka's largest Mercedes-Benz facility.
The new second generation Mercedes-Benz GL-Class, is powered by a 3.0 liter V6 diesel engine, mated to a 7-speed G-Tronic automatic transmission, which is operated via a ‘direct select' lever positioned on the steering wheel column. The engine is rated at 255 HP @ 3800 rpm and a massive 510 Nm of torque available between 1600 rpm-2800 rpm. Maximum torque output is 620 Nm.
Sundaram Motors, located at Kasturba Road, is spread across an area of 13,000 sq-ft and has been set up with an investment of INR 80 million. The new facility has a capacity of 16 cars and also includes a Mercedes Cafe and an exclusive kids play area. With the addition of the new showroom Mercedes has strengthened its presence in the country, with 57 outlets across 32 cities.
The GL 350 CDI 4MATIC BlueEfficiency is the only engine variant currently being offered, which has a starting price of INR 78.88 lakhs. A detailed post about the new GL-Class, with images coming soon.
