McLaren P1 Official Performance Specifications Released
It's official folks. The first production McLaren P1 has reached its customer and with it the British supercar maker has made public, for the first time, the official performance numbers of their hybrid hypercar.
"We designed the McLaren P1 from the outset with one clear goal: to be the best driver's car on road and track. The confirmation of the performance figures underlines this."
"I am very proud of our Woking based team and everything they have achieved with this ambitious project. The handover of the first McLaren P1TM is another milestone in our 50 year history," said Mike Flewitt, CEO, McLaren Automotive Ltd.

The first production McLaren P1 is a Volcano Yellow model with contrasting exposed carbon fibre. The unknown British owner of the first car took delivery of the P1 directly from the McLaren Technology Centre.

Only 375 McLaren P1 super cars will be manufactured. Each of the cars will be hand built at the McLaren Production Center (MPC) in Woking England.

Speaking about its production methods, McLaren says, a single car takes 82 technicians 17 days to finish, in a four stage assembly process.

Running at full capacity one P1 hypercar will leave the production line every day until mid-2015 when the 375th car leaves the MPC.

McLaren P1 is no doubt an impressive car that excels on all levels. It may not be the fastest car in the world like its predecessor, but then it was never intended to be. Its makers developed it to the world's best driver's car, on road and in track. Nevertheless, the P1 is one of the quickest cars in existence.
