McLaren P1's Embarrassing Breakdown In Italy

Hypercars, a category which includes exotics (so called due to the limited numbers which are built) such as the Lamborghini Veneno, Ferrari LaFerrari, McLaren P1 and others are not supposed to break down. Not only considering that they cost more than a small country side villa, but also because they are the product of meticulous engineering, coming from reputed automakers.

However, it seems that is not always true, as this particular McLaren P1 proved. This lemon yellow P1, presumably the same one that was displayed at the Geneva Motor Show, decided not to start in front of a crowd of millionaires and billionaires.

McLaren officials found themselves in this embarrassing situation at the recently concluded Villa d'Este Concorso d'Eleganza in Italy. An attempt to power up the P1 and display its awesomeness resulted in the information system displaying the messages, "Park Brake Fault - Call McLaren Service Centre" and "ESC Fault Vehicle Limphome - Go to McLaren Service Centre". The hypercar had to be then loaded onto a trailer and taken off. Thankfully, McLaren has already sold all 375 units that are to be built. Hopefully for the automaker, there is no provision for cancellation of orders.
