McLaren 12C MSO Concept From Special Operations
McLaren Special Operations, or MSO in short, is the car customization division of the British automaker. MSO is NOT what AMG is to Mercedes or Nismo is to Nissan. Instead, MSO exists to help its high profile customers customize the McLarens they own.
The extent of customization is only limited by the money a customer is willing to spend. Proof of fact is the customer commissioned X1, a one-off model based on the McLaren 12C, but looks nothing like it. Now that you know what MSO is really capable of, take a look at its latest creation. McLaren 12C MSO Concept.

In brief, the new MSO 12C Concept is an extensively customised standard 12C sports car that has received plenty of new, lightweight, performance oriented parts, both on the outside and inside.

MSO 12C Concept features a revised bonnet, front wing louvres, rear wing vents, an Airbrake that's different from the standard 12C and even a integrated snorkel on the roof that channels air to the engine.

All these revisions have been constructed out of lightweight carbon fiber. Furthermore, the wheel bolts, oil and water filler caps have been made from titanium to further shed weight.

However, the most appealing visual upgrade the MSO 12C has received are the ‘Light Weight Wheel' with a new diamond cut design.

McLaren does not say how much lighter the MSO 12C Concept is from the standard car, but it is expected to be a relatively minor improvement over the standard 12C's 1434 kg kerb weight.

Lastly, the interior upgrades featured in the MSO 12C include body coloured switch packs and bezels and new instrument cluster with integrated shift lights - all in carbon fiber.
