Suzuki iV-4, An EcoSport Rival Heads To Frankfurt
The relatively new compact SUV segment in India is arguably the most exciting in India, which initially started with the Scorpio and was followed up by the Renault Duster with great success. But still, Maruti Suzuki has been completely missing from the scene from the start.
Come to think of it, apart from the hatchback segment the Maruti Suzuki does not have a significant presence in the Indian automobile space. The competition in the compact SUV segment recently heated up with the coming of Ford EcoSport. Opportunity is still not lost though and Suzuki is now ready to capitalize on it by launching a new compact SUV, the iV-4.

Frankfurt reveal
Suzuki has announced that it will unveil the iV-4 compact SUV at the Frankfurt auto show, which starts on September 10th. The new model is based on a ‘Grab your field' theme, which Suzuki explains "embodies the basic ruggedness of an SUV".

Design features
From the teaser released now we can see the SUV has a significant amount of ground clearance. Another design feature that catches the eye are the roof mounted headlamps. But that could just be limited to the concept model.

The iV-4 is based on XA Alpha Concept
In Europe we'll see Suzuki iV-4 take on rivals such as Renault Captur, Dacia Duster and Peugeot 2008. In India the new SUV, wearing the Maruti Suzuki badge, is likely to be revealed at the 2013 Delhi Auto Expo before heading to production soon after.
Teaser video
Further information about the Suzuki iV-4 will provided at 2:15pm, on 10 September 2013, in Hall 9.0, Stand B08 at the Frankfurt Auto Show. Other Suzuki models on display at the show will be Alto, Splash, Swift, Swift Sport, SX4, SX4 S-Cross, Jimny, Grand Vitara and Kizashi.
