Mahindra To Launch More A Powerful Reva e2o In Europe
Mahindra will start offering a more powerful version of Reva e2o in Europe soon, reports AutocarIndia. The e2o is a pure electric car that was launched by the Reva brand owned by Mahindra & Mahindra.
According to the report, engineers from M&M and Reva are working together to develop new powertrains for future electric vehicles coming from the manufacturer.

Reportedly, mid range (50-60 kW or 67-81bhp) and high range (80 kW or 107bhp and above) engines are in the development stage. The European spec e2o will be powered by mid range power trains. The e2o currently on offer in India generates just 19 kW of power.
The high range powertrains meanwhile are meant to power new, larger electric vehicles from Mahindra. These could be sedans or mini cargo trucks. Remember that Mahindra does have plans for a battery powered Verito sedan.

Before Reva was acquired by Mahindra the Bangalore based electric car maker had showcased the Reva NSX concept (next gen Reva) at the 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show with plans to launch the car in Europe. That plan was dumped post the acquisition. It is unlikely Mahindra will showcase the Reva at next month's Frankfurt Auto Show, but then again they could surprise us.
In India though Reva e2o is could almost be called a failure. The small electric car has posted lower than expected sales figures due to its high price tag. Hence the company is now looking to introduce a new sales strategy wherein interested buyers will be able drive the e2o for a few days before deciding to buy it.
