Mahindra Reva Conferred CII Design Excellence Award
Mahindra Reva Electric Vehicles has been awarded the Design Excellence award by The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) for its all electric e2o four door city car.

Reva e2o won the award in CII's 4-Wheeler Mobility Design Category. The CII Design Excellence Awards was started in 2011 as a way to establish design as a tool for national competitiveness. The awards is recognised by the The India Design Council and acts as the national strategic body for multi-disciplinary design. The award seeks to encourage Indian industry to strive to achieve design excellence, to innovate and come up with competetive and original designs.
Speaking on the occasion, Chetan Maini, Chief Executive Officer, Mahindra Reva Electric Vehicles Pvt. Ltd. said, "We are delighted to receive this prestigious award. Design has been a key element in the development of the Mahindra e2o and this award is an affirmation of our efforts in creating a world class ‘Future of Mobility' solution. It is a matter of pride and great honour to be acknowledged by CII and we would like to thank each and every one who has supported us in achieving this recognition. The award will only spur us on to achieve greater heights in times to come."
Reva e2o, India's only production electric car, has in the past, received other recognitions such as the ‘innovation' award by Italian magazine, Focus. Mahindra Reva was also ranked 22nd in the prestigious ‘Fast Company' magazine listing of the Top 50 Most Innovative Global Companies of 2013.
Unfortunately, the green car has not been well received by consumers in India despite its green credentials owing to its high price tag. Hopefully, that will change once government subsidy for electric vehicles under the National Electric Mobility Mission Plan comes into effect.
