Mahindra Bolero, India’s Largest Selling SUV Sets Sales Record
Mahindra's position as India's largest SUV manufacturer is largely due to huge, still growing popularity of Bolero. This iconic SUV was launched in the year 2000, but has remained unchallenged even with the advent of modern SUVs from modern SUVs from international manufacturers.
Mahindra sold 1,17,665 units of the Bolero during the 2013 financial year as against 1,00,686 units during the previous financial year, registering a growth of 17 percent. Since its launch 13 years back the number of Boleros sold has crossed the 6.5 lakh mark. Here are some other interesting facts about India's most loved SUV.
Mahindra Bolero has been the highest selling Sports Utility Vehicle in India every year since 2007 financial year.
Mahindra Bolero is the only Indian SUV to sell over 100,000 units for 2 years in a row.
Mahindra Bolero ranked 5th in the top 10 passenger vehicles in India during April - September 2013. It was also the only SUV in the list.
