Lucra Cars Of Fast & Furious Fame Teases Upcoming 2.2 Roadster
Until Fast & Furious 6 hit the theaters earlier this year, Lucra Cars was just another low volume sports car maker from California, USA, with little exposure. The incredibly powerful green and yellow retro styled Lucra LC470 roadster featured in the movie catapulted the company's name to the clouds.
Now that everyone is taking notice, the company has decided to release a brand new car. Not a retro styled one, but a modern day sports car. As of now Lucra has only released three images of the said sports car on its Facebook page, with little more to go on. But we can be sure the new car will be just as powerful as the movie car.

The upcoming Lucra is codenamed 2.2. The open top sports car will be powered by engines from either General Motors or Mercedes Benz AMG. More likely is AMG's naturally aspirated M156 6.2-litre V8 unit, which is good for 457 HP.

The car will likely use space frame tubular chassis and carbon fibre bodywork, like the LC470, to keep weight to the minimum and improve the power to weight ratio.

The design of the upcoming Lucra 2.2 has certainly taken inspiration from the Corvette Stingray. It is thus very much possible that Luke Richards, founder of Lucra decides on using GM's 7.0 liter V8 that went into the Corvette Z06.

This here is the LC470, the retro styled roadster that we saw in Fast and Furious 6. It is powered by a huge 600 HP engine that has to push a car weighing less than a ton.
