Leonardo DiCaprio & Venturi Field 10th Formula E Championship Team
Hollywood actor and award winning environmental activist Leonardo DiCaprio has joined hands with Gildo Pallanca Pastor, founder of Venturi Automobiles to field the tenth and final team for the 2014 Formula E Championship.

The French electric car company's team Venturi Grand Prix will be based out of Monaco. Helping DiCaprio and Pastor run the team will be Bert Hedaya and Francesco Costa.
"The future of our planet depends on our ability to embrace fuel-efficient, clean-energy vehicles," DiCaprio said. "Venturi Grand Prix has shown tremendous foresight in their decision to create an environmentally friendly racing team, and I am happy to be a part of this effort."

Formula E is an electric car racing championship that will begin in September 2014, with street races scheduled all over the world. The 2014 Formula E Championship will be a one make series, with all the teams using the Spark-Renault SRT_01E chassis, powered by hardware provided by McLaren & Williams. Formula E electric race cars will have a top speed of over 225km/h.
Venturi Automobiles is an award winning electric vehicle manufacturer that holds the world land speed record for an electric vehicle, at 495 km/h. From the second edition of Formula E Venturi plans to hold the additional responsibility of a constructor, when it will deploy its own Formula E racer powered by a version of the 3000 HP electric streamliner - Venturi VBB-3.
