Land Rover Freelander 2 S Business Edition Launched In India
Land Rover Freelander 2, the most affordable Land Rover offered in India is now less expensive by the way of a new low cost trim. The new variant is for some reason, named Freelander 2 S Business Edition, though it offers nothing remotely corporate.
Land Rover Freelander 2, introduced earlier this year, is now available in three variants, including the new ‘S' trim - S, SE and HSE. The previous low end trim SE is available for INR 39.19 lakhs, HSE for 44.42, while the S Business Edition is priced at INR 37.11 lakhs.

Cost cutting has been achieved in the same manner Audi has with its own ‘S' version of the Q3 SUV, by subtracting features. The missing features in the Freelander 2 S are panoramic sunroof, reverse camera, meridian music system, electrically adjustable front seats and premium exterior paint.
Also, in the engine department the 2.2 liter diesel engine comes with a lower state of tune, delivering 147 HP and 420 Nm of torque (higher state of tune provides 188 HP). This is mated to a 6 speed automatic transmission with CommandShift, driving all four wheels, with LR's Terrain response System. The unit delivers a 0-100km/h time of 11.2 seconds and returns 12.39 km/l.

No compromise has been made on the safety front though, with the full array of features - traction control, airbags, brake force distribution system, emergency brake assist, dynamic stability control, cornering brake control and roll stability control - still on offer.
