Lamborghini Urus SUV Coming In 2016
Lamborghini Urus, the automaker's exocitic looking SUV concept, which was revealed to the world at last year's Beijing Auto Show, will see the light of day as a production model in late 2016, says Autocar. The revelation was made by none other than Rupert Stadler, Audi CEO. For those who do not know, Lamborghini is owned by Audi, which is in turn under the ownership of Volkswagen.
The Lamborghini Urus should be "signed off" "this year." "Lamborghini has to do it," said Stadler told Autocar during its annual press conference. "Because of the need to dovetail into production cycles, we should see the Urus in 2017."

While information about the Urus's powertrain is not known, it is known that the Urus will share the jointly developed next generation MLB platform with Porsche Cayenne, Volkswagen Touareg and Audi Q7. The new MLB platform has been designed using advanced technology, using lightweight and strong materials, including aluminium and carbon fiber.
"The Volkswagen Group has been experimenting with a mix of chopped carbon fibers and resin which can be injected into a mould to create components in just three to four minutes - significantly faster than components made conventionally from layers of carbon fibre matting, " says the report.
