Hyundai has bagged yet another record. The Korean manufacturer's Santa Fe has been rated as the safest large 4x4 off-road in 2012. The new generation Hyundai Santa Fe was accessed in 2012 by EURO NCAP and Hyundai's car turned out to be the best-in class.
The 2012 Hyundai Santa Fe is said to be one of the safest vehicles tested by the independant vehicle assessment organization. The Santa Fe scored higher than its large off-road 4x4 rivals such as Mercedes-Benz M-Class and Range Rover.

The Santa Fe Scored 96% with maximum points earned in the side barrier test. When it came down to the ‘child occupant' category, the D-segment SUV scored 89%, and features such as electronic stability control contributed to the car's score of 86% in the ‘safety assist' category.
Hyundai is committed to safety and the new generation Santa Fe is the brand's first car to be equipped with an active hood. This system activates if a pedestrian is hit, reducing impact forces and reducing the risk of serious injury. The active hood technology in pedestrian safety scored 71%, making the New Generation Santa Fe stand out among its rivals in this category with the nearest high score being 63%.
