Hyundai i20 WRC Race Car At Geneva
Hyundai is getting closer to being ready for the World Rally Championship, which will take place next year, of which the South Korean automaker will be part of. The vehicle of choice is the Hyundai i20 hatchback, which the automaker first showcased at last year's Paris Auto Show.
The Hyundai i20 WRC car at the manufacturer's stand at the Geneva Motor Show makes it clear that good process has been made by the team and the car looks almost ready to take on the punishing WRC tracks. At present the car is in the private testing and development stage.

The latest specification i20 WRC car sports the Hyundai trademark Blue paint job and redesigned race livery, which creatively combines native Korean script, Hunminjeongeum. "The livery matches the excitement and dynamism of WRC with the Korean heritage of the Hyundai brand," Hyundai says.

A team of key technical, logistics and motorsport specialists put together by Team Principal Michel Nandan (who himself is a WRC veteran) at the team's base in Alzenau, Germany has joined the manufacturing team to help them with the development of the car.

According to Nandan the new i20 WRC model features a new rear and front spoiler along with several under the body improvements, including changes to suspension kinematics and increased chassis stiffness.

No further technical specifications have been released yet, which will be available closer to the launch date.

Nandan says, "Hyundai has returned to the World Rally stage to demonstrate its technical capabilities on one of the world's most competitive stages. Our ultimate goal is to be victorious but we know that we have a lot of tough competition ahead of us. We will use this year to lay the solid foundations but hope to advance quickly as 2014 approaches."
