Hyundai i20/HB20S Sedan Launched In Brazil
Hyundai Motor Brazil has unveiled the sedan version of its i20 hatchback in Brazil. However, in Brazil the vehicle belongs to the HB series and is hence called HB20S. Hyundai HB20S sedan uses the same platform as the HB20 hatchback and the lineup will also include a crossover model named HB20X.
Hyundai has ensured that the addition of an extended boot to the body of a hatchback does not leave it looking awkward, as is the case with most hatchback to sedan converts. The new, larger boot has a capacity of 450 liters. Hyundai HB20S is powered by a 80 HP 1.0 liter three cylinder engine and a 128 HP 1.6 liter four cylinder engine with the choices of a five speed manual and a four speed automatic transmission. Taking into consideration Hyundai's strategy for India, the automaker will launch a compact sedan version of its hatchback in India later this year or early next year. However, the HB20 is unlikely to be launched in India since its larger than 4 meter body length would mean a higher price tag.
