Hyundai HND-9 Luxury Sports Coupe Concept At Seoul
The HND-9, showcased at the Seoul International Motor Show, is the South Korean automaker's ninth concept model developed in its R&D center in Namyang. This luxury sports coupe concept will be the template for future Hyundai models.
HND-9 will give customers a glimpse of Hyundai's future luxury sports coupe models," said Suk-Geun Oh, head of Hyundai Design Center. "Representing an evolution of Hyundai's 'Fluidic Sculpture' design philosophy, the rear-wheel drive sports coupe concept balances high performance with a sophisticated image."
While the HND-9 will not be directly be developed into a production model Hyundai has equipped it with an engine - a 3.3 liter turbo GDi unit mated to an 8 speed automatic transmission. The engine develops 370 PS of power.
At 4,695mm long the HND-9 concept is a large vehicle, with a width of 1,890mm, height of 1,340mm and a wheelbase of 2,860mm.
Some of the other features that stand out are the sculpted and fluidic body design, butterfly doors, sculptural rear combination lamps, wide hexagonal-shaped radiator grille, 22 inch alloy wheels and dual tailpipes.
