Honda Mobilio Prototype Revealed In Indonesia
In quick succession two automakers have unveiled their respective MPVs in Indonesia. While Nissan revealed the Datsun GO+ just ahead of the auto show in Jakarta, Honda decided to wait till the auto show to unveil its Brio based MPV concept - Honda Mobilio.
A single look at Honda Mobilio and it becomes clear that unlike the Datsun GO+, Mobilio is angled towards the premium side of things. The LMPV as Honda calls it, looks well designed and engineered. And the added length is not a simple extension of Honda Amaze's boot.
"Since the beginning, Honda Mobilio has not only been designing as a model that fulfills all the needs from LPMV, but also brings high quality standard and sporty performance which becomes the characteristic of Honda product," explains Honda.

Design
Honda Mobilio shares its platform with the Brio and Amaze. However, the wheelbase as well as the ground clearance is higher than the Amaze. While the front fascia is shared with the Brio family, the rest of the body, particularly the roof and the rear part of the vehicle has been designed aggressively. This has prevented the Mobilio from inheriting a dull look that other sedan/hatchback derived MPVs suffer from.
Engine
Honda Mobilio, when launched, will come equipped with the automaker's i-VTEC engine. The 1.5 liter SOHC, 16 valve, 4 cylinder engine generates 118 PS power at 6,600 rpm 14.4 kgm max torque at 4,800 rpm.
Transmission
Honda Mobilio will be made available with two transmission options - 5 speed manual and CVT.

Price
The Mobilio has a price ranging from 150 to 180 million Indonesian Rupiah (INR 8.41 lakhs to INR 10.09 lakhs). While initially the Honda LMPV will remain exclusive to Indonesia, it is sure to make its way into India. Expect Honda to display Mobilio concept at the 2013 Indian Auto Expo.
