Honda CR-V Was The Best Selling SUV In 2012
Honda CR-V has turned out to be the most successful model in the SUV segment in terms of worldwide sales. The CR-V earned the top position with a sales figure of 635,256. Honda CR-V was followed by Hyundai ix35 in second place, with 494,453 unit sales and VW Tiguan with 429,013 unit sales.
It should be said that India sales have hardly contributed to the CR-V's numbers because here Honda CR-V is considered a premium SUV. The absence of a diesel variant has not helped either. However, the CR-V might gain some popularity in the the future if Honda starts locally assembly and offers a diesel engine for the CR-V.
