Honda Recalls 42,672 Second Gen City In India

City recall
Honda Cars India Ltd has issued a recall for 42,672 City sedan units in India. These Honda City sedan, belonging to the second generation, were manufactured between 2007 and 2008 and could have a faulty Power Windows Switch.

Honda says that there is possibility of the power windows electronics malfunctioning if water or any other liquid enters it on the driver's side. This is particularly a concern as the rainy season nears. Though no Honda City has yet been reported with non-functioning power windows due to this problem, the company is carrying forward the recall as a preventive measure, as part of its global exercise.

Owners of affected City sedans will be contacted individually in a phased manner and Honda dealerships across the country will replace the faulty part for free. Neither the third generation Honda City nor the Jazz hatchback are affected by the recall in India.
